Heineken - ChampionTheMatch

Champion The Match was the latest Global Heineken activation on Twitter about UEFA Champions League (UCL). The global Heineken Twitter account was being “hijacked” from a football legend during a UCL game. He was watching the game on an exclusive location, while he was commenting on the game and responding to fans’  questions with #ChampionTheMatch hashtag.

In Greece, the local Heineken Twitter account was “hijacked” during two semi-finals & the final by 3 Greek, highly influential users who are well-known for their football-related comments.

We were responsible for the Twitter account during the activation period. More precisely, our duties included:

  • Creating the content calendar
  • Communicating online in realtime with Twitter users
  • Discovering related conversations and informing the influencer in order to take part
  • Interacting with the global Heineken Twitter account
  • Reaching out & inviting highly influential social media users to participate in the activation
  • Reporting
